CVS haul, Always Radiant Infinity pads and Tampax Radiant tampons |
I live in a household with several women. At any given time, someone in the
house is bound to be on their period. Some of my female relatives come over and borrow tampons and sanitary napkins. Therefore, we can never have too many feminine care products on hand.
A few weeks ago, I saw that CVS advertised a sale on Always and Tampax products, which are my favorite brands of feminine care products. The deal was like this: $3.99 for select Tampax and Always products. Also, customers could earn a $1 Extrabucks reward for purchasing 1 Always or Tampax product. I had a few nice coupons from the September Proctor and Gamble Brandsaver insert and decided to couple them with the sale. Just so that you know, these deals are not currently in effect. The sale ran from Sunday, September 23, 2012 thru Saturday, September 29, 2012.
This is the breakdown of the shopping trip:
I used 2 manufacturer coupons and 2 CVS Extrabucks reward during this shopping trip. 1 Always Radiant Infinity pads, Overnight, 12 count $3.99
1 Always Radiant Infinity pads, Overnight, 12 count $3.99
1 Tampax Radiant tampons, Super, 16 count $3.99
1 Tampax Radiant tampons, Super, 16 count $3.99
6% sales tax $.96
Subtotal (before coupons, etc.) $16.92
I applied the following coupons and discounts to the subtotal:
1- manufacturer coupon for Tampax Radiant products -$2.50
1- manufacturer coupon for Always Radiant products -$2.50
1- CVS Extrabucks reward -$5.00
1- CVS Extrabucks reward -$5.00
Total and price paid (after coupons, etc.) $1.92
I earned $1.00 in Extrabucks after the transaction. There was a limit of only 1 transaction of this type per ExtraCare cardholder. I think that CVS could have made the deal a little bit sweeter by raising the limits from one to 2.
The cashier joked that he needed to start using coupons. He also told me that another lady came through his register and was able to get her order down to a few dollars from about $60. I see that more and more people are catching on to money saving strategies. I feel that people who don’t use Extrabucks and coupons are essentially throwing money away. Don’t you be a “money trasher”.
